The Jazz band and Chorus performed at the Peoria Courthouse today and did a excellent job!









A Big Thank You to Bill Christ and Mike Flynn with Country Financial for donating $750 to MGS PTO to help with the Staff Appreciation luncheon on Wednesday and other staff appreciation activities planned throughout the week.

Great day for the MGS Color Fun Run. Thanks to all that came out to support and help raise money for the playground renovations.








To end our Inclusion Week activities we hosted former student Lilly Mullins and her mom Marie to share with 6th-8th graders about life as a teenager with spina bifida.

The 6th Grade Band enjoyed an excellent performance by the Peoria Symphony Orchestra yesterday! The performance even included an aerial violinist!






The 4th grade students enjoyed delivering May Day baskets to the residents of Snyder Village. The baskets were hung on the doors of the cottages and placed on the dining room tables for all to enjoy.


Last week the 6th grade class got to attend Spring Planting Days at Three Sisters Park! They learned what it was like on a farm in the 19th Century through activities such as planting corn, shelling corn, husking corn, testing corn cobs, plowing, and much more. It was a great experience for all!

As the school year winds down please note the changes to the last days of school: 8th grade's last day is May 17th and Kindergarten's last day is May 22nd. The remaining grades will have no school on May 25th and will return for their last day on May 26th with an 11:30 dismissal.

Thank you Captain Domenighini of the Peoria Fire Dept. and Mr. Schneider with Getz Fire Equipment for coming to MGS and teaching some 7th graders about the safety issues regarding fires and how to use a fire extinguisher properly.









The Fourth Grade Class was excited to sponsor the first ever Swing-For-All Event.
Over 280 K-5 students participated in the event and raised $780 for the playground renovations! We are so thankful for all of the support from students, staff, parents, and Goodfield State Bank. No matter the age, we can all be the "one" to help make a difference. WAY TO GO REDBIRDS!!
