Baseball tryouts are right around the corner! The following dates will be for open field times (completely optional). All dates will be from 9:30-11:00 at the MGS baseball field. July 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31. Tryouts will be held on August 4th from 8-10AM and August 5th from 8-11AM. Some exciting news to share with our students. The MGS Beanstack program is now in tandem with our Illinois Prairie District Library's Beanstack program. Students now have the opportunity to log any minutes read and it will count towards both MGS and the Illinois Prairie District Library. The MGS music department is looking for a chairman for their “Peejays fruit and cheesecake fundraiser” that is held every fall. Job duties include:
Pre sale work: work with Peejays on date and sale materials, list of students for Peejays site, set fruit prices
Sale Collection: packets assembled, packet turn in, input orders and turn orders into Peejays
Delivery day: Volunteer help, order organization, fruit organization and pick up of items

MYSA TRAVEL BASKETBALL – OPEN GYM NIGHTS
We’re excited to announce that MYSA Travel Basketball will be hosting Open Gym Nights this summer! This is a great opportunity for young athletes to improve their skills, stay active, and have fun playing the game they love.

Who: Boys and Girls entering 3rd–6th Grade in Fall 2025
When: Every Monday Night from June 16 – August 4
Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Where: Germantown Hills Middle School Gymnasium
Whether your child is new to the game or looking to sharpen their skills ahead of the upcoming season, these open gyms are a great way to get extra practice, build confidence, and connect with other basketball-loving kids in the area.
No registration required – just show up ready to play!
If you plan on having a child attend, please fill out the waiver and bring it with you. Kids will not be able to participate without a signed waiver from an adult. 2B had a fantastic day "camping out"!! Thanks to all the parents who donated to our campout!!
Last day in D.C. for our 8th graders. Stops included the House of Representatives in the Capitol Building, Ford's Theater, and the Peterson house. We were fortunate the House was in session, and we were able to experience lobbying in action on the floor. No pictures were allowed to be taken in the House of Representatives. Then we said our goodbyes to our awesome course leader, Coach Earley. He shared a wealth of knowledge with our group!
MGS celebrated our track athletes headed to the IESA State Track Meet starting tomorrow. Best of luck to all our athletes! We are Redbirds!!!
