Due to the extreme heat, ALL after school activities have been cancelled. There will be no games or practices on 8/18/25.

The first three days of school? NAILED IT.
Your 8th graders came in strong, bright-eyed, curious, and only slightly confused about where their next class was. (Hey, we’ve all been there.)

We’re happy to report that the 8th grade teachers are alive, caffeinated, and already loving this crew. With a whopping 95 combined years of teaching experience, we’ve basically seen it all and are ready to go this year.

Thanks for sharing your amazing kids with us. We’re in for a fantastic ride!

2B had a great first week of school!! We did many team building and "get to know you" activities.

Our 5th grade students spent some time today making our sidewalks a little brighter with positive messages for students to see as they enter the building!

What an effort by the MGS Softball team tonight with another win over Washington Middle! Great job tonight ladies and good luck tomorrow!

Happy First Friday of the year! What an amazing week! It has been so great to see students and staff back in the building and interacting with each other. There have been so many happy faces this week as students to adjust to new grade, new teachers, and new curriculum.

Next week, teachers will really begin to get into a regular routine with our first full week. Hopefully the students and staff get time to rest, relax, and rejuvinate this weekend. Have a great weekend and we look forward to another amazing week at MGS! We Are Redbirds!

Is your 5th grader interested in playing in the band??? 5th Grade Band Rental and Sign up will be held on Thursday, August 21 from 3-7pm in the MGS Main Gym Foyer.

The Snyder Village Benefit Online Auction is coming up very soon on Saturday, September 6th! We are kicking things off next weekend on Saturday, August 23rd with a Benefit Porkchop Cookout at Kirby Foods in Metamora. Thank you for your support.

Big thank you to the MGS Dance and Cheer team for helping our younger students find their classrooms during arrival on the first day back to school! We love seeing our jr. high students helping our younger students learn how to be a Redbird!

The MGS teachers and staff have spent the last 2 days participating in numerous different professional development trainings, team building activities, and preparing their classrooms and hallways to be full of students! It was great to see everyone at Back to School Night and we are looking forward to having everyone back in the building starting tomorrow. Reminder that Wednesday, August 13 is a full day with dismissal at 3:05pm.

We are excited to have all the students back tomorrow! Reminder that the first day is a FULL DAY. If you have not completed online registration, please make sure to take care of that today! Can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces in the morning!

Kg Families, The PTO is cancelling the social meet mop up for today, August 10th on the MGS playground. With the rain amounts we have had, the continuing sprinkling, and future forecast it is the safest call.  We apologize and look forward to tomorrow's Back2School Night.

Back to School Night is on Monday, Aug 11. Take a look at the attachment for grade level times.

Wednesday, August 13th - First Day of School - This will be a full day with student dismissal occuring from 2:55-3:05.
