PTO kindly asks that parents sign up for only one class party planner/host per student for the first week sign-ups are open. If after that time there are still open slots feel free to sign up for an additional party. (Example. If you have a 1st and a 3rd grader you can sign up for one party planner for each student).
Tonight was Futures Night at MTHS for MGS baseball and softball versus Germantown Hills. Both teams played great with MGS coming out on top in both baseball and softball. Way to go Redbirds!!!
Help Needed! The school year is off to an amazing start. The MGS Music Boosters could use your help. We are in need of a president and a chairman for our Fruit and Cheesecake fundraiser that is quickly coming up this fall. Both positions are very easy. Attention MGS Families: Our Beanstack reading program is back! Beanstack is an online platform used by schools and libraries to run reading challenges and programs, allowing users to log their reading, track progress, earn digital badges and rewards, and participate in reading-related activities. It motivates readers of all ages and connects them to books and library resources to foster a love for reading and improve literacy skills. Please see the attached documents so that you can help your student log their Beanstack minutes and activities. If you have a library card at the Illinois Prairie District Library you can link your accounts. There is a flyer attached, explaining how to do that. MGS hosted the 5th annual Tom Koonce Invitational on Saturday morning at Black Partridge Park. The weather was outstanding and the athletes gave it their all! Special congratulations to our Girl's Varsity and Open teams who both finished 1st place overall! #WeAreRedbirds!

Hello MGS Families,
We are through our first full week of school. It has been great seeing the students already learning and growing so much in the short period of time they are at school. I can't wait to see their growth as the year continues.
Some exciting things have been occurring at MGS. Students are really getting to know each other and making new friends. Teachers are making great connections with their students. We are also beginning our MAP testing this week and next to see where are students are academically to start the year. These MAP tests help to guide the teachers to determine the best way to get their students to grow academicly.
There are a lot of upcoming important dates approaching as well. MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
August 26th is the PTO Restaurant Night at Dairy Queen from 4:00-9:30
August 26th is Picture Day for our Pre K - 4th Grade Students
August 27th is Picture Day for our 5th-8th Grade Students.
September 6th is the annual Meet Your Heroes Event on the Square from 11:00-2:00. More Information to Come!

From Oct-May PTO meetings will be held the first Monday of the month at 6PM at Metamora Grade School.

We’re happy to report that the 8th grade teachers are alive, caffeinated, and already loving this crew. With a whopping 95 combined years of teaching experience, we’ve basically seen it all and are ready to go this year.
