2B had a fantastic day "camping out"!! Thanks to all the parents who donated to our campout!!

Last day in D.C. for our 8th graders. Stops included the House of Representatives in the Capitol Building, Ford's Theater, and the Peterson house. We were fortunate the House was in session, and we were able to experience lobbying in action on the floor. No pictures were allowed to be taken in the House of Representatives. Then we said our goodbyes to our awesome course leader, Coach Earley. He shared a wealth of knowledge with our group!

MGS celebrated our track athletes headed to the IESA State Track Meet starting tomorrow. Best of luck to all our athletes! We are Redbirds!!!

6th grade students were challenged to create a free standing sculpture from just paper in art class.

4th grade was working on a sculpture challenge on the last day of art today.

Lost & Found part 2! The lost and found has exploded. 2nd day in DC did not disappoint! Added the MLK Memorial, FDR Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Capital Building (we met Congressmen Lahood), Arlington National Cemetery, Iwo Jima Memorial, and an MLB game, Nationals vs Braves, to our visited sites. Onto day 3!

What an amazing first day 8th grade students had in Washington D.C.! We took in seeing 9/11 Memorial, The Archives (Constitution, Declaration, Bill of Rights), The Peoples House, White House, African American Museum, Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean Memorial and Einstein Memorial. And now we are off on day 2!

MGS 5th graders have had an eventful past 2 days. On Thursday, they graduated from the DARE program. Thank you to all parents and family members who were able to attend. A special THANK YOU to Ms. Trotter and Mrs. Gregait for all of the time they spent preparing our band and choir to perform. And a huge THANK YOU to Deputy Angela Holocker for taking such an interest in our students becoming the best citizens they can be.
Then today, 5th graders attended their DARE celebration at Grant Memorial Park in Washburn. A great time was had by all, and I do think several kids are going to be asking for Pickleball sets since that seemed to be the most popular activity today.

Thanks so much to our Recorders for the awesome assembly yesterday!

2B had a blast at our Fun Day today!!
