Thanks again to our amazing 2E parents for an awesome Art Commotion lesson! Today we learned about Yayoi Kusama and her creative dot painting. Our class enjoyed creating our own dot art today!

Congratulations to the 5th Grade Band for their excellent performance on the Winter Concert!

Learning by building! 3C took a hands-on approach to learning about one specific simple machine (the wheel and axle). Students built their own race cars and tested them out.

If you build it, they will learn! My third graders have been studying forces in science class. They were given the task of designing a bridge. Then they had to test the strength of their design by adding force. The lesson learned: Failure is a success! By observing where their bridge "failed" they were able to redesign it to make it stronger.

Congratulations to the 4th Grade Recorders on their outstanding performance on their Winter Concert!

Stop in the Cafeteria Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 for a cool treat. We have ice cream and all the topping for a delicious sundae. After you are done there, come shop at the book fair in the Library.

2E had fun in math today! We learned about which tools are best for measuring different lengths.

Mrs. Trentman's 2B did a fun Mystery Science lesson on erosion called What's strong enough to make a canyon? We used cornmeal, salt, and water to find the answer.

Fifth graders have been learning about Earth's place in our solar system. We finished our study, and as an ending activity, 5A and 5B scientists created a model of the solar system by painting and decorating planets and other extraterrestrial objects accurately. The models look great hanging in room 62!

Basketball on our minds! In 5A and 5B yesterday, students reviewed how to multiply and divide fractions using a game of basketball. They had to be fast at computation and great shots to win.

Art Commotion in 2B today.
We learned about the artist Henri Rousseau and worked on symmetry while creating tiger masterpieces! They turned out great!

Learning about the viscosity of liquids in 2D while learning about volcanoes!

Congratulations to the Pep Band on an awesome performance at the volleyball game!

1B is having a lot of fun making different circuits to power lights, fans, and musical alarms. These circuits were bought with a grant the MGS Foundation funded for us and we are very grateful.

In 6th grade science students are creating a project of their choice to compare and contrast 3 different types of volcanoes! Some students chose posters, brochures, Google slides, and screencastify videos! They are turning out amazing!

5th-8th grade students just wrapped up their Pickle Ball unit and had a blast learning a new game! Thank you to the MGS Educational Foundation for providing the equipment and making this possible!

Do you like green eggs and ham? Try them and you may? Kindergarten kids loved the chance to cook and try it while celebrating Read Across America week.

8th graders reading their independent reading books in class.

WILL YOU SURVIVE??? 7th grade SS: Pioneering students put their engineering skills to the test, designing rafts to carry wagons and supplies across the treacherous rivers of the Oregon Trail.
