The MGS teachers and staff have spent the last 2 days participating in numerous different professional development trainings, team building activities, and preparing their classrooms and hallways to be full of students! It was great to see everyone at Back to School Night and we are looking forward to having everyone back in the building starting tomorrow. Reminder that Wednesday, August 13 is a full day with dismissal at 3:05pm.

Kg Families, The PTO is cancelling the social meet mop up for today, August 10th on the MGS playground. With the rain amounts we have had, the continuing sprinkling, and future forecast it is the safest call.  We apologize and look forward to tomorrow's Back2School Night.

The August Redbird Review had wrong information in it. Please note that the Open House is on Monday August 11th not tonight as it originally mentioned. Sorry for any confusion this might have caused.

The start of the school year is less than a week away! I hope the students are getting excited for the first day!

I wanted to share a few reminders of upcoming events for MGS families.

Take a look at the PTO Newsletter attached to this post for information regarding the Back to School Pool Party, Kindergarten Kickoff, Supply Closet Drive, and upcoming Restaurant Night.

Back to School Night is on Monday, Aug 11. Take a look at the attachment for grade level times.

Wednesday, August 13th - First Day of School - This will be a full day with student dismissal occuring from 2:55-3:05.

The MYSA Travel program offers competitive play, a team-first culture, and a focus on skill development. We encourage all players to arrive 15 minutes early, bring a water bottle, and be ready to work.

Help PTO stock the Supply Closet with a supply drive at The Metamora Pool Party Friday 8/8 OR at Back to School Night on MGS Blacktop! All supplies are needed. Anyone who donates supplies will receive a PRIZE! The supply closet is available to teachers and students in need.

Due to field conditions, baseball open field time is cancelled this morning. Tryouts will be held on August 4th from 8-10 and August 5th from 8-11. All athletes MUST be registered students (online registration completed with payment) and have a current physical on file. Without this completed, your son will not be able to tryout.
