#DonationsInAction Thanks to the generosity of our community, The Foundation for Educational Excellence provides dozens of mini-grants each fall to MGS teachers & staff.
This week: The brilliant Jana Southerland, 5th grade teacher at MGS. The Foundation has been able to provide several grants to Mrs. Southerland some of which include nonfiction texts for her Guided Reading/Readers' Workshop, a standing desk adapter used for Zoom teaching, a tripod used to hold up her phone so she could record lessons to be shared to quarantined/sick students, and flexible seating options (yoga balls, wiggle seats, lap desks, stadium seats) used this year to help students focus on their work by being able to move, wiggle, or sit in a place that is helpful to them.
